Is a CPU Cooler necessary?

Hey everyone. I just want to know if a cpu cooler i necessary. I don't plan on overclocking my pc so I didn't think so but someone told me I should get one.

You need something, but if you're not Overclocking and have good air-flow in case and not hot environment then the stock cooler as supplied will be OK. bear in mind, lower temps can help prolong component life and improve performance.
