Depends on how much he stresses the GPU. If the CPU is bottlenecking, simply increasing AA can negate that bottleneck. The bottleneck is not THAT bad either, and with mantle support increasing, it's not going to be much of an issue. Look here:

And unless you have an 120 Hz monitor or higher, the difference between 90 fps and 70 fps due to a CPU bottleneck will go by unnoticed.
