Bonjour !

I let you carte blanche for this one, do whatever you want, but don't go over €1500 :)

I'll ONLY (yes ONLY) play games on this computer. I'd like to have the best performance I can afford with €1500.

Future upgrades are likely to be done on GPU every 1 or 2 years to follow the increase of graphic processing needs in games, but I'd like not to have to change the rest.

This build must include monitor and OS.

Approximate Purchase Date: After september (better wait all the announcements)

Budget Range: €1500 ( = $2000 = £1200 )

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Only for gaming. Already got a macbook to work.

Parts Not Required: mouse, keyboard, the-thing-that-u-put-under-the-mouse.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: www.materiel.net

Country: France. Baguette !

Parts Preferences: I'm more used to Nvidia, but I don't really care.

Overclocking: If it's worth

SLI or Crossfire: If I got da money

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 / 21" min, the higher Pixel Per Inch the better.

Additional Comments:
- I don't care about noise and size.
- I prefer a monitor with a good contrast and definition than a very reactive one with poor blacks and colors. I think 12ms latency should be the max though, as I plan to play with at least 60fps.
- I don't really care about 3D, but if it's there it's cool.

Merci beaucoup !

Here is a decent start to the build:

CPU - i5 4690k (219 E) - http://www.materiel.net/processeur-socket-1150/intel-core-i5-4690k-104739.html

Mobo - Asus Z97 A (120 E) - http://www.materiel.net/carte-mere-socket-1150/asus-z97-a-102532.html

RAM - Crucial 2x4gb (80E) - http://www.materiel.net/barrette-memoire-pour-pc/crucial-ballistix-sport-vlp-ddr3-2-x-4-go-pc12800-cas9-84888.html

SSD - Samsung Evo 120GB (70 E) - http://www.materiel.net/ssd/samsung-serie-840-evo-120-go-94290.html

HDD - WD Blue 1 TB (52 E) - http://www.materiel.net/disque-dur-interne-3-5-pouces/western-digital-wd-blue-3-5-sata-iii-6-gb-s-1-to-caviar-82003.html

GPU - Gigabyte GTX 780 (450 E) - http://www.materiel.net/carte-graphique/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-780-oc-windforce-3-go-gv-n780oc-3gd-92110.html

PSU - Seasonic MII12 Evo 620w (93 E) - http://www.materiel.net/alimentation-pc/seasonic-m12ii-evo-modulaire-620w-100492.html

Case - Fractal Design R4 (88 E) - http://www.materiel.net/boitier-pc/fractal-design-define-r4-black-pearl-80812.html

Total comes to 1172 Euros, plenty of room for extras as you see fit. A few spots you can expand on:

-Change the i5 4690k to an i7 4790k (minimal effect on gaming, useful for other applications like streaming) +100 Euros
-Add CPU cooler (for OC) +80 Euros - http://www.materiel.net/radiateur-pour-processeur/noctua-nh-d14-52825.html
-Bump up to 16 GB ram +60-80 Euros

If you did want to SLI gtx 780s in the future then you would want a 850w power supply, preferably by Seasonic or Antec from that site. Superflower PSUs are supposed to be quite good too but I have no experience with their models since they are rarely in the US.

Mouse + Keyboard are typically personal choice. If you want a mechanical keyboard then this reddit link was pretty helpful to me when picking one out: http://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/wiki/buying_guide

For the monitor there are also a ton of choices.

Hey ! Thanks for the answer :)

A few questions tho :

- you've picked a k processor. I guess with this configuration you would expect me to OC ?
- is the SSD useful, as I won't do anything else than video games ? I've heard SSDs are pretty useless while in game.

Yes, I got some preferences with Razer when speaking about peripherals (already got a mouse and I'm very happy with it, unlike my steelseries who's got an incurable issue) and I was looking towards a deathstalker.

Yes the k processor is for overclocking. If you are positive that you don't want to overclock then you can grab the non-k version, change the mobo to a H97, and not get the CPU cooler.

SSDs have little to no effect on game performance (essentially FPS) but it would help with OS and application start up. I personally think they are worth it but a SSD is not an essential item.

Regarding the case, it is one of my favorites. It has good airflow and some sound dampening. There is also a full tower version if you wanted a bigger case.

I suggest buying from amazon.fr as they're usually cheaper, I have a build planned that I'm going to buy soon and your budget is quite close to mine, although I have 1500 euros for the whole setup.

Case: Nzxt H440
Motherboard: Maximus vii ranger
CPU: i5-4690k
Cpu cooler: H110 (I have been warned by some people that it might not fit, but I've seen builds where it fits just fine, so Amazon's great return policy will be handy.)
GPU: Asus 780 (The R9 290 was also an option as it is 100 euros less for similar performance, but the good cooler for the card is the tri-X which is yellow, so it doesn't fit my color scheme :'( )
PSU: supernova g2 750w
HDD: Seagate st2000dm001
Ram: 8gb ram, will see what's the best offer when I buy it in two weeks or so.
(I also have an SSD that brings the total to 1500, but the build above is 1300, or 1200 if you get the r9 290)
