After a year of use, my Windows says my HDD is going to fail. Is this likely?

I suppose it could be, seeing as I rarely turn off my PC, and my HDD activity light is flashing even when I go to sleep, but even still. Why the hell would it be working when I'm sleeping? Is it random malware downloads or some crap?

Anytime your PC is on, it is transferring data to and from the HDD, even if it is a few bytes at a time. There is still no reason it should be failing however, and you should RMA it to the manufacturer after you backup your data.
