Best Free Antivirus?

So lately I've been looking for a new antivirus ever since my Norton ran out and i'm thinking that going for a free alternative sounds pretty reasonable, any suggestions?

P.S. I didn't know what category to put this under, sorry...

malwarbytes works perfectly for me, just scan once or twice a week

Actually its Avira but it is also one of the worst for false positive.

I've used avast for a very long time, and I think it's great. I've never had a problem with it, and performance wasn't really affected. I've also used AVG recently, and I liked it too.

Avast Antivirus. I've been using it for a long time and it's never failed me

I have no idea why Avast does that, but I have no reason to quesiton it... Their choices as to where to store their files. I've downloaded it many times an have never encountered a problem.
