Upgrade not feasible. Build a PC. Budget?

Since it is an old computer i figured any upgrades would be pretty cheap.

That's generally not true for laptops.

The BGA 437 socket just doesn't have any strong processors for it. It's meant for Intel Atom CPUs, which are mostly for netbooks. Any upgrades on that socket wouldn't be worthwhile, unfortunately. I haven't checked whether the PC you listed is a laptop or a desktop, but if it's a laptop (as most Atom PCs are) then the CPU is probably soldered to the motherboard anyway.

Yeah that's why said not feasible. It's possible, just not worth the money or effort.

You're better off buying a new computer. I'd recommend a desktop, something you can start off small with, and put a little more money in overtime to build it bigger and badder. Laptops unfortunately just weren't made to really upgrade so much.

If it's a laptop, you can't even replace the motherboard.

Laptop motherboards can't be upgraded, and processor you have is soldered means that its melted to the motherboard. If your willing to upgrade for 300$ it's better to buy a small form factor pc.
