Hiya, well im buying a graphics card a low bugdet one, (couse where i live in venezuela i can't afford a 770 gtx or cards like that) i have to choose between a 8600 gt ddr3 512mb or Hd Radeon 3470 ddr2 256mb, i don't play games at high resolucion always 800x600 or 640x480 i play fps games like cs:go, payday 2, garrys mod stuff like that.... and the price range in bolivares the 8600 gt is 2500bs and the Hd3470 is 1000bs so idk..

oh specs are:

e6600 foxconn
pentium dual core 3.0 ghz
2 gb ram ddr3
500w psu
500 gb hd

Solution
The 8600GT has much better performance than the HD3470. Thing is, it's only DX9 compared to DX10.1 by the HD3470. It's unclear whether you mean 8600 GT or 8500 GT though.

In either case... Looking at the price and the resolution you play at, I'd say go with the HD3470. The HD3470 is better than the 8500 GT, and even though its worse than the 8600 GT, the 8600 GT does not justify its price.

Sorry it's 8600 gt, and ok i might go with the 3470 hd but does that 512mb vs 256mb do much of a difference, i know it would if id play at high resolucion, but it doesn't affect at all?or a bit?

mmm i see, i had the 8500 gt ddr2 and i played cs:go 640x480 all low at 50-100 fps, how much more fps will the 3470 have over the 8500 gt?

Yeah, id go with the 8600 but... with the price of the 8600 i can buy 2 3470s and add 500 more and buy 3 cards... what would you do? :c

If you can't afford the 8600 GT, I would just wait for a better opportunity or another card... I don't think the upgrade from 8500 GT to HD 3470 is worth it.

By the way... Upgrading it might not give you better performance. If you increase your resolution, does your performance stay the same? Because your CPU might be bottlenecking the GPU.

Actually im not upgrading :/ ive hag the 8500 to try it just that, atm i don't have any graphics card, and could my e6600 bottleneck hd 3470 D:?

The lower your resolution, the easier the CPU will bottleneck your performance. The only ways to tell is to increase the graphics setting or resolution, whole monitoring the amount of frames per second you're getting. If it stays roughly the same, your CPU is bottlenecking. If it drops significantly , it's not bottlenecking.

And if it's bottlenecking is that bad? does that hurt my system in any way? or is a kinda good thing?

It's neither good nor bad. It simply means that if you buy another graphics card, you will get the same performance. In other words, if you have a bottlenecking CPU, you will still get roughly the same amount of FPS, whether you have an 8500 GT or a 770 GTX.

Ok so to finish, The 8600 gt ddr3 is double the better performance than the hd radeon 3470? and will it work great with my pc?
