Ok...here's my story:

A year ago I bought a Dell Inspiron 660 with Intel core i5 3300. Recently i also bought a Gigabyte GTX-660 and a PSU of 600W and it fits just right. Now i'd like to build a custom pc with a new case and motherboard while keeping the same CPU. I had my eyes on the Intel Z97 mobo

Problem is, my CPU's socket is LGA 1155 while Z97 is LGA 1150. I wanted to keep the same CPU to save money.

What do you think? Is it worth buying an older mobo like the Z77 to fit with my actual CPU?
Both Z97 and Z77 are of similar price so it's a bit of a bummer for me to buy the older one. I'm in a dilemma so i need your opinion.

Thanks a lot!

An LGA 1150 motherboard will NOT work with your CPU. You will have to buy a z77 motherboard to use your 3330.

Seems like a good solution. I could sell my inspiron for half the price i paid for and still be able to buy a new cpu... hmmm tempting
