i recently found an old hard drive of mine and decided to put it in a external enclosure and check it but when i connect it to my pc a red light on the enclosure goes off with a symbol like 3 disks on top of each other and nothing elses happens why?? answers will be highly appriciated

Test the hard drive, it may have failed. Seagate SeaTools for Windows will tell you if it has:
