Hello

Im having this Black screen problem since a few weeks.

First of all. I had a problem with an old graphics card. I was playing league of legends and suddenly, when i was alt tab'ing my screen started to look bad like a few pink and blue pixels, (like the ones u see when the video card starts to die) I restarted the computer and got no problem. A few minutes later my screen went black and the sound was buggy (frozen) then a few seconds later everything turned black and the computer wouldnt turn on. The graphics card wouldnt recognize on this computer and any other.

Then i bought a Sapphire R7 260x and the same day started to get the same issue, but the card havent died yet.

I Keep getting random black screens and frozen audio then everything black with no sound, i have to reset to be able to use the computer again. Its not often but im really afraid, i just got 1 a few minutes ago and yesterday got one too. The first time i got a black screen problem was the same day i bought the R7 260x.

I tried Flashing my BIOS, updated drivers, did a Memtest on my RAM. I formated my computer. and still have this problem.

I use speedfan an usually goes down when im playing or watchin youtube/streams.
Temp1: 40-49C (while playing ) and 30-37C not doing anything special
Temp2: 30C
Temp3: -128C
HD0: 29C
GPU: 37-40C
Core: 19C

Those are the C's i see when im playing or doing something else.

Im afraid that i might have my PSU or MB broken or something that is causin this and might broke my new r7 260x.

Computer specs:
MB: ASUS M5A97 EVO (2012)
RAM: Vengeance 4GB ddr3 (2012)
Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 processor. 2.7GHZ, 3,2 GHZ turbo core. (2012)
PSU: Sentey SDP650-SS 80 plus. (2012)
graphics: Sapphire R7 260x OC (1xdvi) (2014)

* the (xxxx) are the year i bought them

If someone could help me with this it would be nice.

i dont think a black screen occurs due to high temps it generally occurs due to corrupted display drivers faulty motherboard or faulty GPU...so uninstall the catalyst drivers and install the latest drives from the website dont use the beta drivers.....open the gpu and run your pc without it check if the problem still occurs......but the symptoms of random blacscreen with frozen audio with a continuous buzzing sound indicates to a defective motherboard...i had similar problem once and changing the mobo had fixed my problem plus the psu u are using is not up to the mark wattage wise its more than enough but quality wise poor...

my MB doesnt have integrated graphics, and i did uninstall the drivers into the lastest ones in the page.

so would u recommend changing my MB and PSU? or my psu should be ok?

well nothing is clear right now but i dont think the psu has any problem if the pc is starting up so the mobo is the main culprit here if its not the gpu u can do one thing you can install your gpu to a different pc to check if its fine or not if the gpu is fine then mobo is surely faulty..

Is there any way to test my MB?? to check if it has some trouble?

not really you have to take it to a technician who would test it for u that's why the best option is to check your pc with a different psu and a different card to make sure that the mobo is faulty and if u have the warranty left then send it for replacement...

Going to install Hwmonitor to see if i dont have any voltage problems.

Tomorrow ill try to change my Sapphire r7 260x for a Zotac GTX750 TI do u think its worth the change?

sorry to keep bothering u , i just used HWmonitor to check the voltage of some connectors. Everything its fine but the +3.3v connector, it shows at 3.088v.
checking the bios it shows at 3.2xx (nearly 3.3)

i dont OC anything. never changed bios the only thing i did is flash the MB. I buy OC card because i find them better but i dont OC them, i just like to play at minimum so its more stable.

later today i'll go for the zotac gtx750 TI, and i'll test my computer again.
If keeps happening i'll try to find out what else can be... :(
