New CPU and mother board

Hey guys, I built a computer last summer with the follow specs:
intel 3350p
AMD 7950
8 gb of Ram
TX 650 Corsair
H97M Asrock motherboard.

I'm going to be buying my cousin a new computer and was planning on giving her my i5 and mother board because I wanted an upgrade. Anyways,Could anyone recommend a CPU and Motherboard for what I currently have? I was thinking about getting a 4690k.

If you want to oc it then get the i5 4690K otherwise get the i5 4690.
For the mobo I would suggest the ASrock Z97 extreme 4 or an ASUS one. Though MSI is fine too, not the best but fine. If you want a nice gaming motherboard for the color scheme get the MSI Z97 Gaming 3.

Well I don't plan on overclocking anytime soon but I want the option later on. I'll probably get a aftermarket CPU cooler as well. Could you recommend a good Motherboard? Also, do you think I should wait? When is the next series of intel processors coming out?

It will be a while till the next gen comes out the devils canyon just came out this summer. For the motherboard it depends on your budget, allround I would say the ASrock z97 extreme4 is a really good motherboard. Very good price/quality. If you are an ASUS fan get the Z97-A thats a good motherboard too. MSI is less loved because they are sometimes dead on arrival or give trouble.

I want to stay away from Asus motherboards, my friend bought one last summer and one of the ram slots is not registering the inserted memory. My budget is probably around 300 -350 total.
