Hi, I'm wondering if my motherboard says windows 8 ready does it mean that i don't need to do a clean install ? Current i have an acer tc-603 and im gonna part out some stuff from it and onto my new mobo which is a Z97X Gaming 7.

Solution
Unless you are going from z97 to z97 you need a fresh install. If its an OEM copy then you will have to call microsoft and explain that your mobo died and you got a replacement. They might let you use the same code, might not. If they don't then you'll need to purchase a windows copy.
