So I purchased Win 8.1 X64 English 1pk DSP OEI DVD from Altex electronics for 124.00$ (it came in a white envelope type package).
I also purchased a 128GB SDD brand new.
I put all my computer parts together and BAM, a new computer.
I insert the windows disc that says "windows 8.1 full version", into my cd rom drive and boot from the cd rom drive.
Install windows 8 pops up and I click continue.
It says to input the product key, i enter it and it says invalid.

So I go to another website and find a Windows 8 core product key, I enter it and BAM, windows 8.1 core OS is installed into my new SSD.

Now, I have this other product key that I purchased, how do I exchange the keys so I can use mine that I purchased.
Thanks.

I would contact the retailer regarding the problem. I know Microsoft support regarding shifting product keys from OEM licenses tends to be limited.

To change the product key that is associated with Windows, go to the control panel, then the 'System and Security' tab, followed by the 'System' tab. At the bottom of the page you should see your Windows product key, the Windows activation status along with a 'change product key' link which will guide you through entering your alternate key.

Does your Windows installation DVD read 'Intended for distribution with a new PC'? That is the OEM dvd (Which I believe you purchased) but if the DVD reads 'Full version' or 'Full retail version' then you may have been given a retail DVD and sold an OEM key, which would explain the issue.

The windows installation DVD reads "Windows 8.1 Full version." Below it in smaller letters it reads "Intended for distribution with a new PC".
