Which graphics card shall I get?

An R9-270X is quite faster than a GTX 750 Ti. That should work as long as you have a quality 500w PSU or greater.

I have a Corsair RM550 80 Gold, that should be good for the R9 series. Which branded GPU shall I go for? I always went for Gigabyte's Overclocked versions.

Either one is fine. I usually go with Sapphire as a brand since they're cheap but good. But in general it doesn't really matter. Asus is considered more reliable by many, but I have no experience with their graphics cards. I personally am not a fan of Gigabyte.
