This is my first post, and I hope I will be able to give you as much info as you need.

So as the thread name states, I want to upgrade my old AMD Athlon x2 5000+ Brisbane 2.6 Ghz which I overclocked to 2.85 Ghz, but I don't see much improvement, so I'm wondering should I really get a new CPU, because this one is starting to get REALLY slow. (my PC is 6,5 years old, so it's time to upgrade something)

I currently have ASROCK N68C-S UCC Motherboard, and if anyone can suggest me some CPUs I could get for that motherboard (best price/performance ratio).

So can anyone suggest me some good CPU?
My cousin has AMD Athlon II X3 450, and he unlocked the 4th core. He can play games well on it, but are there any better (and by better I don't mean something with 8 cores and overpriced) CPUs for my motherboard? (we have same motherboard).

I'm using my PC mostly for gaming, and some web browsing so I don't need strong CPUs that are used for editing and rendering videos or stuff like that, and I have ATI Radeon 5570 HD which is usually at 70-55% load because my CPU is bottleneck.

Thank you for reading, looking forward to suggestions.
(Sorry for any grammar mistakes, English isn't my native language)

You mobo supports AM3 and those cpus have not been production for a while. So just finding a new cpu is not easy Try to contact Asrock and see if they have a update to your mobo that will allow it to use AM3+ cpus. If you can update your mobo there are many choices in cpu, but you need a update first.
