The Blue right now is £40 for me while the Black is £59. Is the Black's speed worth the price difference? I will only be using it for playing games mostly and storing music, photos etc.

Get the Blue. The speed will do nothing and your better off spending that money on an SSD later. Plus the Blue has more customer reviews.

Black = 5 Year Warranty
Blue = 3 Year Warranty

Also, do some searching before posting.
