I'm looking for something like an ergotron LX wall mount arm. I have 6 24 inch dell ultra sharp monitors. Problem is that I cant get a good aligned setup on my outside monitors. They are either two far away or i'm left with a good viewing angle but gaps between the bezels. The ergotron lx arm seems like it would do the trick because I need the full range of motion, but the arms need to be about half that size to make it work. Any suggestions on an alternative? 3x2 setup and must wall mount as I have a glass desk and cannot desk mount.

I run 3 of these VideoSecu LCD Monitor TV Wall Mount Articulating Arm Bracket for most 12"-24", some up to 27" with VESA 100/75mm LED Flat Panel Screen TV ML10B 1E9, on 3 27" monitors one is a Dell Ultrasharp u2713hm for editing in the center, it takes a bit but you can get all lined up. My monitors have full articulation and 360 movement. It would be interesting to see it done with 6 monitors. It will just take a bit with the alignment as it did for me.

Other option could be to use 1 Ergotech Triple Horizontal LCD Monitor Arm and mount the other 3 to the wall.

They do make 6 screen setups but they can get pricey....

I've tried those in the past its tough to get them aligned with all 6. It is such a big setup that you need them on a slight inward angle. It looks great and works with all monitors flat and line up, but when I slightly angle the bottom and top rows there is no flexibility with the videoSecu brackets and the end result is open gaps in the 4 corners. That is why I feel as if I need something with a full range of motion so I can adjust on the fly rather than having to remount if I'm off by 1/4" up or down.

My last purchase was the ergotech hex 3 over 3. it was actually a pretty nice stand. But it doesn't support the weight of the widescreens. The other problem I ran into was the height adjustment is only set for predrilled holes ever 2 inches or so, so you cannot stack them evenly without fabrication. But even then with the size of the monitors the 2 outside top monitors have a 2" sag that is not fixable. and I played with the setup and alignment for a good week before throwing in the towel.

I know there are viable desk mounted or desk stand solutions. But I have a large glass desk and its not wide enough for the a stand and I cannot mount anything to the base of the desk because it wont hold. I need something I can wall mount with a full range of motion that is no more than 8" or so off the wall. I know this is a tall order but I've gone through 4-5 different arms/mounts/stands before going to the Forums. (which this is my first time by the way) I find anything regarding 6 monitor mounting to be almost entirely custom and takes creativity to finally get it right. (without spending a small fortune)

I'll try to attach a picture so you can see where i'm at now and get a better idea of where I am struggling.

Oh that desk is tempered glass, now I see what you are saying...

Here's an Idea, if you know a little carpentry you can do this. It will look a little odd unless you do some finishing work but it will work.

1. Lumber 1 4x6 cut to 4ft, 6 6" wood bolts with matching washers 1/4" or 6.5 mm diameter. (used for stud anchoring)

2. Set a staggered mount to the wall with these brackets or brackets like these -- 24" Triple Monitor Full Motion Multi LCD Video TV Wall Ceiling Mount you can find them here http://www.highgrade.com.tw/index.asp?lang=2

Have the one below against the wall and the one above on the wood beam (as a riser) This will allow for a good angle of the upper mount.

Or the custom approach...

Speak with a metalworker, I know it will cost more than prefab, but you will get what you need. With weight comes price so it is a idea to look at if money is a secondary factor.
