Although I've seen it multiple times and have also tried every solution I have come across,
my GPU seems to hang regardless even when idle and editing the time frame that windows allocates has also not worked at all. I'm starting to get the feeling this might be system specific or something..

My system is:

AMD A10-7850K (2.7GHz)
ATI R9 270X
MSI A88X G43
16GB RAM
750W
Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit

I've tried:
Allocating more time for my GPU through registry changes (manually and windows fixit)
Updated my graphics drivers to the newest ones, including beta
Checked my RAM sticks one by one, all of which passed
Set all my power settings to maximum
Also sweeped the graphics drivers and tried a completely clean install of the drivers
Reinstalled windows
Changed graphics card (from a friend who's PC functions fine, Nvidia GTX 760)

I have no idea what's causing this and have tried everything I've found so far,
would appreciate some major help, thanks in advance.

Yeah, also disabled the integrated graphics from the BIOS since when it was set on "Auto" it still kept them enabled.

you are saying the gtx 760 is working fine in your pc check your gpu stress with this http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/ i think you can find both ur integrated and dedicards there and it gives low resilts better give it to service check that your gpu is over heating

Sorry, I think you misunderstood what I meant, my bad for that.
I meant it works completely fine on my friends PC, so I tried it out but it gave me the Nvidia driver error for me.

Check your gpu slot have all the pins i think u got problem with your mobo Just check it and the other thing is that the card is working coreectly in other system but with some nvidia driver error just rollback the driver and If your frind have a gfx card just try it in your mobo
