Hi guys!So today I got this notification that I have low memory and I should click it so that it could clear some memory. After a few minutes it was done and cleared 200 mb but what files are these 200mb because I have a lot of important photos and I can't risk loosing them so are these some kind of temporary files or it cleared my less used files?

Solution
Windows stores a lot of temp files that are supposed to be deleted when you shut down the computer. Sometimes this does not happen. In addition, files that you delete are transferred to the 'Recycle' bin. These files accumulate and slow down the computer.

It is a good idea to regularly (once a week) run a program such as "CCLEANER" and clean up the computer. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

This is a free program and will not arbitrarily delete your files. It will only delete the temp files and do general cleanup.

Temp files are typically stored in 2 locations.

C:\Windows\Temp
C:\Users\<profilename>\Appdata\Local\Temp (If multiple people log into this machine with different user names each will have a temp folder).

Close all applications and then go in to the locations above and hit CTRL+A to hightligt everything and then hit Shift+Del to delete it all (not move to recycle bin). If you hit Shift+Del it is deleted and gone.

Some files may still be locked in there because of running applications and services, but it should only be a few. Everything else should go away.
