yeah, i have been looking into those cpus quite alot, they do have the fx 9000 series that have like 2 cpus made, i've heard that they are a tank when it comes to rendering and live-streaming. but if i was to spend the £200 required for one, i might as well get a intel cpu, its a tough decision

For minecraft you probably want the fastest single thread performance available (so fast i3, or overclocked Pnetium G3258).

If you are just recording for friends and youtube videos and things then you can use NVidia Shadow Play or AMDs Game DVR stuff to record your in game without impacting your performance all that much.

I haven't seen benchmarks for Vegas specifically but for most of the Adobe suite and gaming scenarios a new i5 will generally beat the 8350 and won't be that much different in price, plus it will do so while using less power and generating less heat.

The 9xxx series are overpriced. just go with the 8350. It is much cheaper and on ar with some i7s in multithreaded tasks such as rendering.

well f you want good fps may want to try amd a8 6600k its very affrodable because it has a 3.90Ghz and if you have well temp room or good cooling fans it can be overclocked up to 4.89Ghz (air)

You can pair the 1231v3, with an H81 or H97 board, and don't need an aftermarket cooler. FX 8350 quickly loses value when you add in overclocking board and cooler. Even pushed to FX 9590 speeds, it won't beat a 1231v3.

This is my theory in all honesty but you could have gone for a cheaper mobo on the FX side like this one
ASRock 990FX Extreme3 and the CM Hyper Evo 212 . They will be the same cost but the Xeon will be better.

The asrock 990fx extreme3 is a poor overclocking board with its 4+1 phase power. You want at least 8+2 phase for FX 8350 overclocking. Also, the 212 evo isn't going to do well past about 4.4-4.5ghz. It is a great budget cooler, but even it has its limitations. I actually went cheaper than many would have on the cooler. Many would have went with a Noctua or a H100i.

I was talking about the basic concept of the idea , I was agreeing with your opinion by proving that even the cheaper mobo and cheaper aftermarket cooler won't make the FX a better option :D

wow, I left my internet alone for a few days and I get all these thread emails, I will be going the amd route to start off with, then I will set a budget aside to setup a Xeon rendering rig, thanks for all the input on the thread guys
