EVGA GeForce GT 740 Superclocked 4GB 128-Bit GDDR5

GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5

I bought the GT 740sc for a build I put together for a friend, and she was very happy with its performance. Her boyfriend decided he wanted the same build except now it's out of stock at Newegg. They have it at Amazon, but it's the same price as the GTX 750 Ti, which I've heard great things about.
I did a comparison between the cards here: http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-750-Ti-vs-EVGA-GeForce-GT-740-Superclocked-4-GB
It seems the 750 Ti is better all around, but I'm wondering how much of a difference will those 2 missing GBs of memory make? Is it made up by the fact that the 750 Ti has twice as many cores as the GT 740sc?
Should I tell my friend to return her GT 740sc and get a 750 Ti instead?
Thanks in advance for any help.
