Hello. I just replaced my gtx 580m with ati 6970m. I read some forums on what to do step by step. I think I made a wrong decision. One of the steps said to delete the nvidia drivers which I did. When I installed the 6970m and powered up I got the 8 beeps and black screen. I put my alienware driver disc and windows 7 disc into slot hoping to get to a regular screen to no avail. Can somebody help. Can't afford to take to tech right now after purchasing new gpu and school shopping for daughter.

I though it wasn't possible changing a laptop GPU from nvidia to AMD because of pin compatibility.
