Hi! I recently bougth parts and components and build my own computer, everything is up and running, but The temp is abnormaly high, i idle around 55-60°C and load at 75 to 90°c. I switched from stock to an aftermarket cooler, and was really careful to get The thermal paste correctly aplied, still same temps? I have coretemp, amd overdrive and hw and they all state The same temps, how can i lower my temp? Please help :(
I have a amd a8-6600k 3.9 ghz CPU.

75 to 90c at load isn't safe for an AMD proc, you really want to keep it close to 60c. If he was talking about thermal margin then that would actually go down as he put more load onto the cpu.

I'd reapply the thermal paste. How did you apply it before? The general method is, rice grain sized blob in the middle then let the pressure spread it around and don't pick the heatsink back up that causes air bubbles.

Again... please read carefully whats in the link... If the cpu whas actualy at those temps what do you guys think it would happen?? Max temp for the A8 is arround 70º, if he whas getting 90º the hole system would been auto shutdown waaayyy before that...

Amds max temp is like intels Tcase, lets take an i5 3350p for example it has its Tcase set to 67c but its TJmax (which they don't tell you directly) is something around 100c thats when it shuts down, thats a good 33c above the Tcase.

Obviously its not particularly healthy for the chip but it wouldn't shut down just because it hit Tcase.

To be honest it's possible he typo'd 90 when he meant 80. 75c to 90c seems like a huge range compared to his idle range of 55c to 60c.

Regardless, OP, reapply your thermal paste.
