For reference. It's the Asus GTX780 OC edition.
Corsiar 750w
I built this myself (new to buiding) this is the final step and I'm stumped. I'm using hdmi. I think both lights have to be green for it to work. I tried every possible combination and none worked (even if they weren't both green). My monitor kept saying plug the PCIe cables to power my gpu. I had one combination that worked, the 6 pin and then the 2 pin, and it was completely green. But instead of giving me the error message nothing came through the monitor at all. Can someone school me on this?

also on your pic i just counted the pins you definitely need a 6pin connection and a 8pin connection. do you have those on your power supply?

I somehow think you have two problems:
- you didn't power the video card properly initially. the fact that you are trying different combinations doesn't give me faith in you.
-when you finally did you are just not getting signal to your monitor

Your PSU will have 6+2 pins so it will work with 6 or 8 pin connections. Once you have that correct. make sure that the monitor can see the signal that the video card is sending by making sure it is on the correct input. You mentioned HDMI so make sure the monitor is on that input. I would try a DVI cable if you can't get it to work. If you have a display port cable try that but I doubt you do.
