There are a lot of antivirus out there, and it seems to me that most of them are all good and even the free version have the same engines. So for the average people, how do you decide which antivirus to use?

(Personally I don't use antivirus because I know what I do and I am the only one using my computer and rarely insert other people's flash drive on it)

Personal preference. I'm careful too, but that doesn't mean it can't happen, that's why I use AV/IS/AntiMalware. Better than nothing, and todays computers are well fast enough to run everything at once, not like a decade ago where you couldn't use the computer with the anti virus running...

Common sense. There's no way to totally avoid virus' short of never turning your PC on. Malwarebytes is usually good enough if you run it at least once a month. If you have a preference use it. And any one who tells you your AV is actually spyware is an idiot, they all are, it's how they find virus', by spying on whats going on in your computer.
