Hi guys, I have a computer build and it works great. I am just curious if I can remove the case speaker? It is very annoying when the computer boots. I do plan on keeping the speaker, and not throwing it away. Thanks for the help!

You can just unplug the cables from the motherboard and leave it in your case, that way it'll be easy to use if you ever need it.

ah, he would have to attach it to something because the only thing that it is attached to is the motherboard; If it is not attached to the motherboard's pins, then it is not attached to anything at all.

Yes, you can remove the case speaker and keep it somewhere handy so that you can hook it up if ever your computer doesn't boot or display messages on the screen. The case speaker emitts beeps that are in a sequence when there is a bootup or hardware problem..

some cases might have it builit-into the front panel wires which is what Eduello was referring to.

Thank you! I'll keep it close by. But I'm just curious- would the computer ever suddenly not start? With viruses aside, would the hardware suddenly fail? Thanks for the help!

Sure. Computer hardware can fail just like any other electronic component. If you select quality components then it helps lessen the possibility, but even the best components can fail. As was mentioned, you don't need the case speaker for the system to function. Just remove it and keep it somewhere in case you need it for troubleshooting later.

Just did it- thanks! Sorry to bother you again, but I'm curious- is Mushkin a good company for SSD's? I'm running Windows off one of those drives
