I just bought a new graphics card and I put it in my pc and when I plugged the vga cable into it, it just was a black screen. So I hooked up to my regular vga spot and started my pc and went into device manager and looked at adapters and the only video card that popped up was my internal one. I tried to disable my internal and start it up but that didn't work either. Someone please help I really want this card to work.

Post your build.

Make sure your monitor cable is in the correct port in the graphics card.

make sure the power supply can handle the new card and all the power plugs on the video card are filled.

There's only one vga cable on my card. I'm running a eMachines EL1358G that has this card (the one that currently isn't working) http://www.amazon.com/XFX-650MHz-PCI-Express-Graphics-H...

Everything else is stock.

Make sure the monitor didn't get set to an input other than VGA. Make sure that, as smorizio said, the card has the extra power supply headers plugged into it.

it a bios and chipset issue. when the mb came out nvidia and amd were not real buddy buddy. so if a vendor made brand x cards not work with there mb you have to buy theres. if it a bios issue a lot of times with pre built pc there no newer bios files that were dropped.
