Hi, Im looking to do a mild overclock on the i7 4790k in the cooler master haf x, the cm 212 evo and the gigabyte gaming 5, to around 4.5 ghz.

Is it possible?
Also what temps would I be looking at?

Depends on your particular chip, but from what I've seen most folks have been able to get 4.6 without issue. Above that depends on your chip and cooling. Mine runs perfectly happy at 4.6 with a peak temp using AIDA64 FDU-Only of 82C, but I'm using an NH-D14 so you're temps may be higher at the same speed.

Your chip can handle higher temps but you really want to keep it at 85C or lower during stress testing. You'll have to try it and see what you get.
