Hello everyone at tom's Hardware,

I seem to have a problem with my graphics card(s). I have a Inspiron 17R laptop with an i7 intel core and two types of graphic cards. The integrated Intel HD graphics and the AMD Radeon HD 8870.
It appears however that whenever I start a game or something that should run smoothly with the Radeon card, it runs terribly. An example of this is Guild Wars 2 that I'm trying to run, but can't play at all because of the terrible fps. Just moving my character around is taking forever. I did use catalyst control centre (which is installed on my laptop) and changed the games to "High Perfomance", but this didn't change anything at all. When I use detection software on my laptop (for example the software of the 'Can you run it?' site) It only detects the Intel HD, and not the AMD Radeon card. This has let me to believe my laptop isn't using this card at all. If you can help me use my graphics card properly or have any information please post an answer, MUCH apprecrated!!

If you right click on the guildwars icon do you see an option to "Run with 8870M" or something like that?

and by the way, not all 17R came with the 8870m, Some even have AMD processors. Whats the full model# from the sticker on the back please?
