I see a lot of people building for games and for "Folding@Home"

What exactly is Folding@Home and what exactly are the benefits you can get for using your system at Folding@Home?

It helps save the word from it self (it's one of those "spare processing goes towards curing cancer" sort of things)

It doesn't benefit you per se. You allow your pc to run calculation to support finding cures in illness like Alzheimer's, Huntington's or Parkinson's.

It's just because I see a lot of people willing to use their computers for Folding@Home and specially on PCPartPicker.com I see a lot builds going for that kind of thing. So I was just wondering lol.
