I am trying to extend the wifi signal by using another router as bridge
--------------------------
Source router is Netgear N150 b/g/n and here are the settings

IP 192.168.254.1

Subnet mask 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway 192.160.254.254

Channel number is on auto
------------------------------------------------------------

I have a Ubuquiti antenna

Here is the webpage for the antenna

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004EGI3CI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I connected Linksys E900 router to this antenna and then another cable is connecting the router to my laptop

To access antenna settings I typed 192.168.1.20 and accessed the antenna settings I chosed bridge option

Then accessed internet explorer typed in 192.168.1.1 for linksys router settings

Here is the linksys settings

IP 192.168.1.43

Subnet mask 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway 192.168.1.1

Channel number is on auto
------------------------------------------------

I choosed the channel number different than the one from the original signal and chose bridge as option

While it was connected I tried to surf the net but it did not work

I unplugged it form the router and checked the wifi signals and saw my wifi signal very strong

But tried to connect but it says can not connect
----------------------------------

Can someone help me?.

Is default gateway supposed to be the same in main router and the bridge router and the antenna?

Very confusing setup.

Which device has the 192.168.1.1 address, the linksys can't have both .1 and .43

There are 2 basic ways to run these. You can run everything bridged. So if the netgear is the main router all the other IP would need to be in the range 192.168.254.x and use the default gateway of 192.168.254.1....ie the netgear. The netgear would give out all the IP etc for your netowrk so you need to disable DHCP on the other 2 devices. This is the simplest way to install this but it depends on the ubiquiti device to be able to run WDS between the netgear and itself.

The other way to run this is to let the ubiquiti act as a router. This is one of the few devices that you can run when WDS fails. In that case you would assign 192.168.1.1 to the ubiquiti device and let it hand out ip to your end devices and use 192.168.1.x for those devices. The linksys router you could assign the 192.168.1.43 address if you like making sure you have again disabled DHCP on this device.

...a added thought the linksys I assume you mean you want to run as a AP...ie it lets end user machines connect to it via wireless and connects to the ubiquiti via wired.

Thanks for the answer

So let me repeat

My neighbor has Netgear N150 which is the source router is Netgear N150 b/g/n and here are the settings

IP 192.168.254.1

Subnet mask 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway 192.160.254.254

Channel number is on auto

I am 300ft away from her house and I have a Ubuquiti antenna to amplify the signal

here is the antenna

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004EGI3CI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This antenna receives the signal from the source router which I described above. This antenna is connected to my router with a ethernet cable

To access to antenna settings the IP number is 192.168.1.20. I am not sure what to do with the settings here. Like IP and gateway etc

My router is Linksys E900 with the following settings. (The reason for this set up is to extend the range of neighbor's wifi signal to inside my house

I typed 192.168.1.1 to get to the settings of Linksys E900

IP 192.168.1.43

Subnet mask 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway 192.168.1.1

Channel number is on auto
----------------------------------------

I see the signal very strong in the laptop in the house but no internet

So can you help me?

I suspect your key problem is.

"To access to antenna settings the IP number is 192.168.1.20. I am not sure what to do with the settings here. Like IP and gateway etc"

The configuration you are proposing is actually very complex and you have to really understand what you are doing. All the IP addresses really have to put on the correct devices to work properly. The ubiquti is a great device but also is extremely complex because it has so many options.

You need to take it one step at a time. You need to be able to log into the internet from a PC directly hooked to the ubiquiti device with a ethernet cable. After that works you can then place your other router behind it.

I still recommend you run the ubiquiti as a WDS bridge and run your linksys as a AP letting the netgear control all the IP addresses. You need to completely do away with the 192.168.1.x ip addresses.

That is exactly what I did

The second router which is Linksys E900 I connected that to my pc with ethernet cable to configure it

I guess the main idea is all 3 devices should have same IP addreses is that correct?

I think there is a problem here

I just learned that bridge mode is for the devices I want to hook up with wire

But I want to distribute the signal wirelessly

So a router with a bridge mode will not help me. Is that correct?

The better name for a device that takes a wired signal and distributes it wirelessly is a AP. Almost any router can be used as a AP by cabling to the lan ports. The device you buy as dedicated AP normally have extra features like PoE that increase the costs quite a bit.

Very technically the device is still a bridge but it is a confusing name....just like all switches are bridges but nobody calls them that.

So there is a wired bridge and there is a wireless bridge

I need WIRELESS BRIDGE

My neighbor' has NEtgear N150 and his wifi signal is received by my antenna which is connected to my Linksys E900 router which has bridge mode capability.

I want my router Linksys E900 to redistribute this wifi signal inside my house.

Is this possible?

Misterno... This is a very old post, but I have the answer for you... Since you have the Linksys E900 router, whatt you want to do is download Shibby Tomato firmware http://tomato.groov.pl/download/K26RT-N/build5x-132-EN/Linksys%20E-series - - -
Once you have flashed the new firmware, you can set the e900 as a Wireless Ethernet Bridge mode... change the Lan IP to 192.168.254. (anything different than your main router) - - -then, set your SSID and password to match your AP (main router wifi).. save settings and you're done.. very easy to set up... ..so you can have a Wireless Bridge far away receiving the connection wirelessly and you can connect a TV or any device to it using an Ethernet cable.
