Hello Everyone,
I'm ready to upgrade from my laptop for school so I've been trying to put together a build that will support World of Warcraft at its highest settings with high fps, internet surfing, and a few other games(StarCraft 2, League, Rust, Dragon age 3)
This is what I am considering: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Vscaduto/saved/yTrRsY
I've never built a PC before but I'm pretty positive the RAM is extreme overkill but I'd be getting a good discount at a local store, I'm actually getting all the parts from a local store
As stated above this is the first time I've looked into building a PC and I'd like to be able to upgrade parts in the future as needed. Feedback would be immensely appreciated. Thank you.

Also, the RAM, Vengeance have large heatspreaders, are big and bulky and get heated quickly too.
I've made some imp revisions to your PC:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($219.00 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 65.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($69.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 EXTREME4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($128.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory ($189.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($129.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($73.99 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 280X 3GB DirectCU II Video Card ($308.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: Fractal Design Define XL R2 (Black Pearl) ATX Full Tower Case ($116.52 @ Mwave)
Power Supply: SeaSonic M12II 850W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($109.99 @ Amazon)
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/RSBS DVD/CD Writer ($14.99 @ Newegg)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($87.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $1450.43
Here, you get the best air CPU cooler.
16 GB RAM, better than the Corsair both in design and performance (2400/11 vs 2400/10).
R9 280X 3GB Asus.
Tier 1 PSU, better than the EVGA you locked on.
Hope it helps

Umm get an i7 without cooler then. Updated:
PCPartPicker part list
Why? better CPU than i5 without OCing. Hyperthreads. Better stock speed.

Pro tip: If you don't wish to OC, get a H97 MoBo, with the build I just suggested, and save $80, and get a R9 290. Would do you wonders in future too

Best solution
That's a good build, sadly, the MoBo doesn't support more than 1600MHz RAM module, get this one instead:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 3.6GHz Quad-Core Processor ($295.99 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 PRO4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($99.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory ($189.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($129.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($73.99 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 290 4GB DirectCU II Video Card ($379.00 @ Newegg)
Case: Fractal Design Define XL R2 (Black Pearl) ATX Full Tower Case ($116.52 @ Mwave)
Power Supply: SeaSonic M12II 850W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($109.99 @ Amazon)
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/RSBS DVD/CD Writer ($14.99 @ Newegg)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($87.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $1498.44
This MoBo would use your RAM to its full potential and is OCable too (doesn't really matter in your case).

I was able to find most of everything. The only problem being I cant locate the PSU amongst other items you recommended and if I bought locally it would be from this selection:
PSU: http://www.microcenter.com/category/4294966654/Power-Su... (Unsure)
Memory: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/ite...

PSU:

MoBo is OK.
Memory:
That RAM was OK but this one is better (more Mhz, same CL) and is cheaper:
