Hi gurus,

I've run into this several times before and always ended up rebuilding my Windows drive :(

This morning, I noticed my Intel Rapid Storage application was no longer was no longer running. It suggested re-installing which I tried several times. Finally, it suggested removing the application which I did. I rebooted the system and noticed that all my RAID 1 volumes were split. Sure enough, I looked at the BIOS and the SATA setting was back at IDE. This was the real problem (not the driver). Now, if I reset the BIOS SATA setting to RAID, the system no longer boots.

Any tips on getting this back up and running ? I'm thinking of: reset SATA to IDE, install Intel RST drivers, reset SATA to RAID. I did see a Regedit file to enable RST.

Thanks,

Ward

PS - I still have no clue why the BIOS setting changed. I never go in there. The last time it happened, I did have a virus. I'm wondering if I encountered something again. I'll check that once I get the system back. Atleast I can run in IDE mode, but I lose my data protection :(
