I am looking at buying a laptop and was wondering if it would support gaming. I love Skyrim and heavily-modded Minecraft in particular. I really don't want to be limited to playing on low settings, and would like to eventually be able to play newer games, such as borderlands.

Processor: 2.1GHz up to 2.9GHz AMD Quad-Core A10-5745M APU

Video Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 8610G graphics with up to 4224MB total graphics memory

Here is the link to all of the specs if interested: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c04346410&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en

Thank you all for the help!

Gaming laptops start at about $1000.
I'm also pretty sure that's not an actual graphics card, just the intergrated graphics on the CPU, so your alraedy pretty weak CPU is gonna be trying to process graphics as well.

It might work for not to heavily modded minecraft or skyrim, but not at any decent settings.

Hi,
I have heard that skyrim is realy cpu bound so you can go with this laptop but the ither thing is that the graphic card is not ddr5 so they can process data slowly than ddr5 better go with i5 preceer and atleast hd 6000+ ddr5 gfx card if you are hardcore gamer i recommend pc for gaming

Thank you for the replies! Would this be better?

4th generation Intel® Core™ i5-4210U Dual Core Processor + 2GB NVIDIA GeForce 830M Graphics

I would also be willing to upgrade to this if needed:

4th generation Intel® Core™ i7-4510U Dual Core Processor + 2GB NVIDIA GeForce 840M Graphics

Let me know what you think! Thanks!
