GPU temps too high?

My 3-year old GTX 560 ti is hitting 41-47 degrees when idle and 70-75 degrees when playing intensive games (BF4, ACIV). Is it too high? If it's high, can I use the Zalman ZM-STG2M (remaining paste included with the CPU cooler) with it ? how would the temps drop if I reapply the paste?

70-75 isn't ideal, but it isn't terrible if you're really stressing it. You can use the same paste - if you do it correctly, you should see some improvement, but how much is anyone's guess. What were the max temps when it was new? If it was the same, you may not see much improvement, but if the temps were much lower 2 or 3 years ago, you could see a big improvement as it's likely that the current paste has degraded.

i was new to PC back then and never actually care about temps so i didn't know how hot it was back then. I have the Gigabyte OC version of the card. I'll apply some new paste to see if there's any improvement
