Black screen while running game ....

I'm not really sure where to put this question. So I've been trying to figure out this issue and have searched online. My current setup is as follows. I'm running an AMD 1090XT with two Sapphire 6850's in Crossfire. I have two monitors setup and I play Diablo 3 in windowed full screen on the main monitor while watching Youtube on the other. After some time, while clicking on the browser with the video up, my system will crash. I hear a pew sound like something turning off and black screen on both monitors but the fans are still on on the computer, the lights on the motherboard are still on and the CPU and GPU fans are still going. Obviously the power supply is still on. I've tried narrowing it down to just having one 6850 connected with power and still the same. I've been keeping an eye on temperatures so the GPU gets up to about 73 Celsius on average. I must admit I did not keep an eye out for the CPU temp. I'm using Core Temp for looking at CPU temps (I know I should have paid attention to this too), and Speed Fan for GPU temps.

Would anyone have any suggestions? No I'm not overclocking anything. Obviously, my chances of getting an RMA are gone since my video cards are all out of date. And doing an RMA on any parts of my system are gone. My next step right now is to reproduce the problem again with one 6850 and just watching the CPU temps to get data. Then possibly get a different video card and install to see if I can reproduce the problem. As well as checking overall temps on the system like hdd, but it's kind of hard to take all temps at once since I don't know when it crashes.

it was all fine then one day it blackscreened so I fooled with it some then it would fire up for 1 or 2 quick seconds and just die so my buddy came by and took a lok and found the swollen cap on the board I did not see [it was ever so slight] and then we took things apart I took the cover off the psu and there were 3 that easily showed they were bad no overlooking them

That's the thing though. I have been using my laptop extensively for about 2-3 years just for portability reasons and I've used it to play games way more than this desktop system. Actually, it was just last week that I decided to play Diablo 3 on the desktop, so it's been dormant for at least 6 months.

How did you find out you had bad caps?
