I have recently bought a MAXIMUS VII RANGER my first Intel gaming rig or so I thought!!
Got home spent hours installing MOBO everything was going great re routed cabling so its virtually invisible etc etc. I installed my G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL in slots A2 and B2 fully seated I hasten to add. connected peripherals, turned monitor onto standby and pressed the impressive looking start button......... Nothing apart from Q Code 55 so I pressed MEM OK and it cycled through but still Q55.By this time many forums had been read and I tried 1 dim in slot A1... Q55 then A2...Q55 finally B1 I got it to boot it will also boot in B2. Now after several days of messing about with different config I can get it to boot with both dims in B1 and B2 respectively.
But as soon as I try either A1 or A2 good old Q55 shows up. I removed the PU and thouroughly checked for bent pins looking from several different angles and as far as I'm aware there are none.
I have also tried with my spare Hyper Blu KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX exactly the same thing happens, 'm running the Hyper Blu now cos they seem more stable.
So my question is am I unlucky enough to own 2 different sets of RAM that are not compatible with MOBO or is my brand new Ranger fried???

THANKS IN ADVANCE PEOPLE :))

yeah I flashed bios with no GPU RAM or CPU installed to the latest revision I have been in touch with ASUS who basically said its not our problem contact your retailer. Well thanks for a great after sales service.
Also been on G.Skill website and as far as I can tell my ram is compatible so it leads me to one conclusion GOODBYE £130 it was nice knowing you. BTW mt retailer is quite happy to take my board back and test it thouroughly. But ASUS have a little get out clause in their warranty so if there is a pin the least bit out of line warranty VOID.
Really I could do with borrowing a set of compatible Dimms to see if that sorts the problem I think.
