Hi everyone i was just wondering about precautions i should take when putting my computer together for the first time, im hearing alot about static electricity effecting the parts when installing what precautions should i take?
If you're building it at home I would suggest building it in your kitchen or garage to prevent static electricity do it away from carpet if it's your first time, if you're doing it in a carpeted room just make sure you're grounded. Don't stress out too much about it, I've heard of a guy who got naked and built his first computer in his restroom because he was so paranoid, he was in his 60s
make sure you are on a clean spacious work table, wood is preferable. make sure you are not on carpet, and touch the metal part of your case repeatedly to discharge any static.

when installing the CPU, make sure the little triangle or dot in the corner of the chip lines up with the mark on the corner of the socket. it will only fit one way. and dont touch the pins, handle the chip by the corners.
