Can't figure out how to do it. I can see my backup drive, and can see my backup files, but the TOSHIBA backup software cannot see the backup drive, and will not restore from it. The drive did not come with software that is now apparently standard, so I am at a loss as to how to get the computer to recognize the backup drive without accidentally wiping out the backup drive.

A local IT repair shop has my data backed up on their network, but I am looking to selectively restore key programs and files without restoring everything and ending up with a lot of XP junk on a Windows 7 computer.

I would appreciate any help you could provide.....

I'm not familiar with any Toshiba backup program, however I've never heard of selectively restoring individual programs from a backup image. You'll need to install like normal.

As for the FILES, it sounds like you have a single BACKUP IMAGE of your XP drive and that these files and need the Toshiba software to open it and find them so you can extract them?

Are you certain you can restore individual files?

As I said, I don't know what software you have though. Please link the program's web site.
