I have a Aleinware (pre dell) Aurora with liquid and I7920 (@3.4) 24 gigs ram that just runs all day all night.

This beast has been on 24/7 x 5 years OCed and just won't die. Power surges, lightening storms can't stop this beast.

I have a IVY in the other room but I don't really "Feel" like its any faster so no reason to upgrade it.

Are there any other I7 first gen old timers out there? Anyone?

My 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo in my old PC is still going strong after 8 years of almost 24X7 usage. I know its irrelevant to a i7 but I just can't help feeling proud of my choice in the past! I use it for reading and timepass browsing now, and do my work(VFX, gaming) on my new rig (4790k). Its ON almost the whole day, on sleep most of the time.

I have a 930 @ 4.2ghz on my other system and it's still a beast, my Q6600 on the other hand feels extremely slow, the first Gen i7's are still relevant today which is actually surprising how well it aged.

My brother still uses an i7-950

My backup desktop uses a QX9650

I have a server colocated that is equipped with dual Xeon E5430s that's been running for about 6 years straight

Just recently took out my old 920 DO, dropped in a Xeon W3520 binned better/better chip/silicon....its no joke runs better undervolts better/runs cooler etc.

still both are later batches....you are still going to pay a lot/more for those earlier better golden chips unfortunately haha

My god I want to score a Gulftown/westmere hexcore... drop that in see what that's all about xD
