Is Virtual box CPU intensive?

I want to run multiple virtialbox VMs on my PC. I know I'll need to dedicate about 2GB of RAM to each since I'm running Windows 7, but I'm wondering about how much CPU power it uses. I am running an AMD fx-6300 on my PC. How many VMs can I run semi-idle until my PC lags?

Thanks

Solution
I don't know about your AMD CPU, but I've run 3 or 4 VM instances on an i5-3570k, 16GB RAM with no problem.

2-4GB for each VM.
LinuxMint, XP, Server2012....

I imagine our CPUs are similarish. My Mobo has an option for VM acceleration or something, not too sure what it does but maybe it helps? Anywho if your CPU runs 4 VMs no issue then thats all I needed to hear, thanks!

Specifically:
LinuxMint playing a video
Server 2012 hosting a SharePoint 2007 instance
Win XP connecting to and using that SharePoint instance
Win 7 also connecting to that SharePoint instance

All running inside a Windows 8.1 Pro host system.
