Hello, I have a Lenovo y510p with GeForce GT 755M sli (GPU) and I7 processor.

I sent in my laptop because it overheated and Lenovo replaced the parts and sent it back. But for some reason I am unable to play the same games that I could before on a higher framerate. I was easily able to play AC4 on high for 55-60 frames but now its dipping to 20-25...what could be the reason for this? I updated the drivers when I got my laptop back.

(new laptop btw, only 2 months old)

Thanks

Part of the repair may involve downclocking to reduce heat. Have you compared your replacements clocks to the original?
What about the games setting? How sure are you that you have them set now as they were in the old one?

I agree. You might have some dust and stuff in there that is blocking the fans. You were probably at the limit before but once just a little bit of junk got in there then you it would downclock to prevent damage. You might also have more programs open in the background. Make sure you clear out the background programs before you play to get the best performance. If that doesn't work you should consider buying a cooling pad to keep it cool while you play.
