Hi Guys,

I would really appreciate some assistance with some problems trying to get my crossfire setup up and running.

I have an existing msi r9 290 twin froza gpu and have just bought another one off ebay to match and this ebay card, per the invoice, was purchased around January 2014.

Before installing both cards at the same time I tested each individual card and they both work fine.

The ebay card however seemed to run hotter and the benchmark score was lower.

Using unigine Heaven 4.0 my original GPU got a score of 1350 and max temp of 81c while the ebay card got a score of 1230 and max temp of 92c.

When I installed both cards windows loads up fine however when I try to run unigine it crashes as soon as the benchmark starts and I have to manually shut off the pc and restart.

Same thing when I tried running a game, my PC crashes after a couple of seconds and I have to restart.

I remembered when I first bought my GPU that I had similar crashes when I tried to overclock the GPU too far, so I tried under clocking the cards, using after burner, all the way to the minimum possible speeds and I was able to see the unigine 4.0 benchmark run for about 5 seconds before once again crashing.

If I disable cross fire things return to normal, could this issue possibly be related to a faulty ebay card? I'm thinking of opening a dispute over the card….or is there some deeper issue I should be concerned about?

Thanks in advance.

My PC specs are:

Intel i7 4770k cpu
Gigabyte h87 d3h motherboard
8gb ram
Cougar GX 1050 PSU
