Solution
Go with the first one. It will be very good for the future and the GPU is just as good because its super clocked. You will be much happier with the performance and if you OC it you will be extremely happy with it. You also don't need that much power for the PSU. You only need like 600w max.

The 780 will run games just as well because it's superclocked which means it is much faster and is almost on par with the 780ti. Plus the i5 will be outdated faster than the i7.

Just cause it's superclocked does not mean it runs better than this 780 ti model in particular. I would have a 780 ti asus dcii over a 780 superclocked any day, and also, the 780 ti will last longer at ultra settings and even playable fps on 4k :) lol it's a i5 4690k, the latest i5 there is, by the time the i5 starts struggling, a new pc will be needed anyway

Ok so the 780 ti is better but the i7- 4790k is a much better CPU than the i5- 4690k. It's not much of a competition.

It's better yes, but what extra performance does it offer in terms of gaming? Nothing.
But the 780 ti gives more fps than the 780 at higher res.
And as the title says' need help with this gaming build' , i think it's a better choice to go with the i5 :)

But it will be better in the long run because whenever the next set of CPU's come out (something like an i9) the i5 then will become the i3 now, the i7 then will become the i5 now and the i9 then will become the i7 now. So in the long run, it's better.

dat logic doe. So explain to me, how will a i7 increase gaming performance? i'd love to know
