Hi all,

I am currently looking to upgrade my pc, but it will need close to a full overhaul. I need mobo, psu, memory, cpu. I have case, windows 8 64 bit, keyboard, mouse, monitor, cd drive, and hard drive.

I would like to do this on a budget of around 400 dollars which I think is possible. I'll be running a HD 6770 with my ATX MID TOWER CASE. Keep in mind I will be upgrading components such as GPU, case, psu memory etc at a later date. I just want to get running so I can play Counter Strike Global offensive at 1080p with 150+ fps. on high/ultra.

PCU I have i5 3570k from microcenter for 189 I think picked out unless thats overkill.

Advice on cheap mobo, psu, memory please!

what's your current build? For games, usually the GPU is what holds you back.

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ydyqrH
Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ydyqrH/by_merchant/

CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($189.13 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme3 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($97.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($76.50 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: EVGA 600B 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($59.98 @ OutletPC)
Total: $423.60

Here's a build with a cpu holding the place of your k series. Little over $400, but you can't really shave off any money without quality problems.

PSU: Corsair CX 750 (http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Modular-Bronze-ATX12V-EPS12V/[strike][/strike]dp/B00ALK3KEM/ref=lp_1161760_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1407988881&sr=1-1 Amazon $80)
Mobo: MSI Micro ATX (http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Computer-MicroATX-Motherboard-H81M-E33/dp/B00F42W70A/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1405631270&sr=8-3&keywords=LGA+1150+motherboard Amazon $50)
RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance (http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-Desktop-Memory-CML8GX3M2A1600C9/dp/B00569K7LM/ref=sr_1_11?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1407989231&sr=1-11&keywords=Corsair+vengeance+RAM Amazon $90)
CPU: Intel Core i3-4340 (http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i3-4340-BX80646I34340-Dual-Core-Processor/dp/B00EF1G860/ref=sr_1_32?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1407989368&sr=1-32&keywords=LGA+1150+processors Amazon $160)

That adds up to $380 and with shipping/tax $400

My current build is a processor from like 2001...with a hd 6770..the cpu is so ancient it bottlenecks my hd 6770 which is also outdated a lot. I'll look into that deal at microcenter cause I will go there for atleast my cpu most likely..they seem to be quite cheaper. I'll also want to get an SSD etc in the future..but just trying to get up and running asap..while leaving room to upgrade.
