Any os made for gaming or what os should I get for gaming
Specs
4GB ram
3.1ghz processor
500gb HDD
Current OS windows vista

You can tune up Vista to work just like Windows 7, DX11 and all. Windows 8.1 has a couple more DX11 features but nothing to bother with if you have Vista. Rumor is that 9 is around the corner and will include DX12.

just install win 7/8 64bit they have best gaming performance, I recommends Win 7 ultimate/enterprise 64bits
(keep in mind some games performs better in win8 due to driver compatibilities)
