Which PSU is the BEST?

Hello there!

Having a tough time choosing one PSU from the one's I'll list a bit later here! I'm using the AMD FX 6300 (will OC), Sapphire 7870 2GB OC Ghz edition (will OC but not Crossfire), Cooler Master 212 EVO (will probably not use water cooling in the future) and a Gigabyte 97A-DS3P. :D

My current PSU is a disgrace to humanity and should be changed immediately (don't ask what it is lol)

Now, experts, which PSU is the BEST in terms of (in chronological order)
1) Least amount of noise even when under load
2) Best PURE TASTY POWER
3) Least amount of wires everywhere (I think only one PSU is modular :/

And finally, here are the PSUs from cheapest to most expensive :P
- Antec NeoECO C NEO ECO 520C 520W ATX12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply
- SeaSonic S12II 520 Bronze 520W 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply
- XFX TS Series P1550SXXB9 550W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified Active PFC Power Supply
- SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze 520W 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
- Rosewill CAPSTONE-550 550W 80 PLUS GOLD Power Supply
- Rosewill CAPSTONE-550-M 550W 80 PLUS GOLD Power Supply

I don't want to spend more than $70 on this unless I must, and all replies would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

  1. My vote is for the XFX 550 TS. Seasonic built and gold rated :)

Thanks for the suggestion, but the PSU is Bronze Certified, not Gold!
  3. seasonic M12II would be my vote

Thanks for the reply! Any reason to why you picked this than another PSU?
  5. seasonic make really good quality power supplies, its also better quality than the S12II and modular.

here is the tier list for power supplies

  6. The XFX is made by Seasonic. I've never seen a Bronze rated TS, maybe they don't sell them over here. Regardless its still a very nice PSU and so is the other Seasonic mentioned above
  7. anything by Seasonic antec or XFX is seasonic, so all of them are quality pieces IMO, I'd only ever trust those three brands and get the cheapest one.
  8. Some Antecs are Delta who are also fantastic!
  9. Also I read that multi rail design PSUs are safer if the PSU idk overloads or whatever and that single rail designs aren't safe...is that true? The SeaSonic M12II 520 is dual rail and Modular so I'm kind of leaning towards that PSU. :p
  10. Rosewill CAPSTONE-550-M 550W 80 PLUS GOLD Power Supply

Made by the best Super Flower.

That PSU is single rail. Isn't multi rail safer? And previous comments said that SeaSonic makes the best PSUs...so leaving companies out of the equation, spec wise, would this still be a better PSU than the other ones?
  12. Single rail is better , that's all I buy.

They are all decent , I would leave out the ECO.
  14. Single rails present no great hazard in a decent PSU and I think their "dangers" are wayyy over exaggerated.

  15. I think I'm gonna go with the Rosewill CAPSTONE-550-M 550W because it uses a Modular design, and is 80 Plus Gold certified.
Thanks again for all the suggestions and replies! :D
  16. Glad to help , thanks for posting.
  17. QUICK question: I MIGHT purchase a SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X R9 290 4GB GDDR5 TRI-X OC GPU in the future, and read that it requires a minimum of 550W, though the Sapphire website states that it requires a minimum of 750W...so...should I still purchase the Rosewill CAPSTONE-550-M 550W, OR should I purchase the SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze OR Rosewill CAPSTONE-650-M 650W instead?

The SeaSonic is worth mentioning since more people have purchased it, and I'm sure they did that for a reason lol :p

UPDATE: Just found out that the SeaSonic M12II 750 SS-750AM2 750W costs the same as the 620W version...?
  18. CAPSTONE-650-M 650W
  19. Seasonic's PSU has more sales for two reasons

    1. People are buying the name without necessarily examining the detail (it's a good PSU but not as good as the Capstone)
    2. The Seasonic model is older and so there has been more time for people to buy it
