Hi so I have the a system with the following MB and CPU: i5 4670K Asus z87-A. The system is from January. It originally came with an h100i watercooling set which failed end of May (the pump died). So I rma'd it and got back a new one. I was busy with exams and other stuff so I only got around to installing it again last week.

After installing it I installed the newest bios for my motherboard and the Aus AISuite 3. I looked inside and set the profile to performance.

After a few days I got the first BSOD my system has ever had! "whea_uncorrectable_error". I was like "hmmm.. no biggie I guess.." but it started happening on irregular basis. Now yesterday I tought hey maybe it's time to OC my system, why else get a watercooling right? So I went into the AI suite [strike](yes yes, it should happen directly in the bios, but the tool seemed so easy :C)[/strike] and went to one of the options that did an automatic tune-up. This sounded like a pretty safe option. The system rebooted and after booting the system opened the AI dialogue saying it would start OC'ing in 60 seconds. The moment it started OC'ing I immediately got a BSOD (same as mentioned before).

The system wouldn't boot past BIOS and said "Overclocking failed! Press f1 to reconfigure in your BIOS".

So I went into bios and just clicked reset to default settings (as this seemed safe again!) After doing so the system rebooted.. But never really booted. Now it just goes into a loop "Power on -> Fans start spinning" this happens for 2 seconds or so --> It goes off for 2/3 seconds --> Powers on again 2 seconds --> goes off for 2/3 seconds --> infinite loop.

WHAT do I do..? Is there like a hardware reset on the motherboard to reset stuff? Or did something die?? :C

Please help ^^

EDIT 1: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1150/Z87-A/E7828_Z87-A.pdf page 39 describes how to reset the CMOS through a jumper on my MB. I'll try that first!

EDI 2: It fixed the problem! Woah.. SWEET :D Sorry for bothering you guys... :p
