This is the Spec Page: http://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/95-phantom-410-mid-t...

VGA Clearance is given as: VGA Card 305mm (w/o fan), 280mm (installed), 230mm (full pivot)

Now this is how I see it, it has 2 HDD cages, the top 1 has the famous NZXT Fan Pivot.

Does the VGA Clearance imply, by saying "305mm (w/o Fan)" , That without the fan pivot mount you have 305mm clearance WITH the top HDD cage still installed?

Yes.
If you look at the ~6:08 mark of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeVnlKRQYrk you can see that there is around 11 inches (280 mm) of clearance up to the fan mount and 12 inches (305 mm) of clearance to the edge of the HDD cage.

No I think, to get the full 305 hdd cages need to be removed also

The Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X is exactly 305mm, and PCIE sockets are vertically placed on top, is it a good idea to buy this case, take out the fan pivot mount, for 305mm clearance and use this GPU? Or will that be cutting it abit fine?

It should just fit in, but if you don't want to, the corsair 300r and 450D are roughly the same price and can definitely fit in

I've been eyeing up the phantom for as long as I can remember and tbh, I have no problem buying a £35 case that will fit a 305mm GPU (Such as the CM N200), I've only stepping up this £70 - £80 area JUST for the phantom.

clearance : VGA Card 305mm (w/o fan), 280mm (installed), 230mm (full pivot) and removing the hdd cage will provide more space..

Don't like the X predator, plus it doesn't come in bright red like the Phantom does xD

you can stick with the phantom 410 you can remove the hdd cages for the extra GPU spaces there are still 2 hdd mounting cage left after you have remove the cages and i dont think you need more than 2 hdd and removing the cages is very simple.....

I have 4 HDD's I consistently use, and 1 SSD, but the SSD is negligible since it has no moving parts, I'll jsut throw it anywhere convenient.

Appreciate the suggestions but all except the Bitfenix Ghost are higher than my budget, and the Ghost I don't like.
