Like right now im using AMD ATHLON 64 X2 6000+ windsor processor its having damn good heatsink and heatpipe within box(luckily i got that). so can anyone help me how to choose these kind of stock coolers. And can we decide that by checking model numbers the stock coolers comes with heatpipe. Please help me im planing to buy a new processor.

Also, do you have DDR3 memory installed? If not the memory controller in the FX line is DDR3 only. So if you have that board and want to use the FX line, you'll need to get some DDR3. As far as processor choices go, here's what I would recommend that's available to you.

I don't know why the motherboard specs says it supports 8 core cpu's but also says it only supports 95w TDP. There aren't any compatible 8 core cpu's that are less than 125W TDP that I can find or have ever seen. So that pretty much leaves you with a six core as the max on that but honestly, that four core 4300 would be fine and be miles above what you...
Good luck finding one of those processors at a reasonable price. They are getting hard to find, especially if you want a fully boxed edition with the fan and heatsink. For the price of that, which is not worth upgrading for what you are going to get, you could easily get a new processor and motherboard. They would be on the lower end of current performance standards, but it would be a tremendous improvement over what you have now and over what you are looking to buy. There are lots of budget options available that would seriously improve your setup but I don't think upgrading to a Phenom II is the answer.

so u suggest to go with FX APU's?

You'd probably be better served getting a new FX CPU or even an X4 750K. You will almost certainly need a new motherboard with the FX chips unless yours is AM3+ and has a BIOS update available for the Vishera CPUS and you'll definitely need a new motherboard with the X4 750K.

Aftermarket heatsinks are great and not all that expensive so I wouldn't worry too much about the one that comes will the CPU, the stock one will keep them cool but is very noisy. Good budget aftermarket choices are the Zalman CNPS5X Performa, the Coolermaster Hyper TX3 and the Coolermaster Hyper Evo 212. These will range between $10 and $30

*EDIT, just Googled your motherboard, it's AM2 so will need replacing

No problem. If you let us know a budget and country we might be able to make some suggestions. There's also the option of getting a used processor from an online auction site and getting one of the aftermarket coolers I mentioned but the trouble is you don't know what kind of a life it had before, it could have been severely OC'd, dropped, overheated etc.

This is the cheapest I'd recommend to get a noticeable improvement on your existing processor and I can see it's already over your budget http://www.flipkart.com/amd-3-5-am3-fx-6-core-fx-6300-fd6300wmhkbox-processor/p/itmdz2whghfbfxnw?pid=PSRDHYYVZJVED3DR&srno=b_19&ref=b0ab0544-5701-4600-918f-9f4f3067d8b8

Paired with this it would be powerful indeed http://www.flipkart.com/cooler-master-hyper-tx3-evo/p/itmd5xzprhxvefrj?pid=COLD5XZPV75JZAEZ&srno=b_59&ref=23b2c9c4-02f6-4826-ac13-00992cd92708

If you can't stretch your budget to these now (or at least the processor and upgrade the cooler later) then I think you should wait a little bit and save some more money.

You still need to check your motherboard is compatible with Vishera CPU's though and I can't check myself without the exact model number of the MSI one you have.

Exactly. The motherboard model is essential for knowing if the processor can be supported and what models will have compatible architecture. Plus the power supply needs to be compatible and of sufficient wattage. Actually though, I was originally talking about a whole new board and processor, something extremely budget but I didn't realize you already had an AM3+ motherboard. Get the model number and we can let you know some options. If you want to just go with a new board and processor in the same price range as an FX cpu we'll also need to know what kind of RAM you are using. Budget priced combo deals may not be available in your area though but we'll see what we can see. If you can use an FX cpu it's likely to be cheaper than you can find a Phenom II for.

small correction my mobo model is "ASROCK N68cgs fx". thats a great suggestion and the fx 6300 processor has really good score in charts....please check and confirm my mobo supports Vishera CPU's.

oh and one more thing i didnt get why we are checking the compatibility for FX CPUs does they dont support power or socket or anything...please clarify and once again thanks

that was good....my mobo is ASROCK N68cgs-fx and its AM3/AM3+ socket and i have no idea about how to check compatibility.....it will be helpful if u can give me....and which one u thing better Phenom II or FX and why.

If his board supports it and he can afford it, great, but you're wrong on the rest. The FX-4300 is miles above the an Athlon 64 X2.

For one, the Athlon only supports DDR2 memory while the FX supports DDR3. The Athlon only has 2 cores vs 4 with the FX. The Athlon has a far outdate instruction set which are obsolete now, and only some old games and software used them. The FX has a higher stock frequency and can overclocked easily. The Athlon has a locked multiplier unless it's the black edition while the FX is highly overclockable. Need I say more?

As for the RAM, if you need to upgrade that it looks like this would be the best option I can find for India retailers. You could go with one of them for 4GB single channel or two of them for 8GB in dual channel. I couldn't find any 2GB x2 kits for dual channel option of 4gb total memory in your market area.

I'm sure there has to be. India is one of the tech giants of the world, surely there are more options that what I'm seeing. Anyhow, DDR3 1600mhz modules are what you can use at the upper end and DDR3 1066 are what you can use at the low end.

The board supports the FX 6300 and might need a BIOS update but you can do that easily with your old processor in the socket before you fit the new one. Download the BIOS from here http://www.asrock.com/mb/NVIDIA/N68C-GS%20FX/?cat=Download

To be honest I thought the link was for the FX 4150 not the FX 4300 but I still think the FX 4300 is racing to obsolescence, its not really even a true quad core, just like the FX 6300 isn't a true hexa core.

It comes down to what the OP wants to do and what they can afford but based on his original budget I'd say get the FX 6300 and buy a cooler later

Get the FX-6300 or even the 4300. Forget the Phenom it's too outdated and too expensive for what you get. Make sure you have DDR3 memory though or else the cpu won't work. The FX series cpu's don't work with DDR2 memory but your board supports DDR2 memory as does the CPU you currently have, so you might only have DDR2 memory installed.

If you have to get the 4300 in order to afford to get different RAM, that's fine, the 4300 and 6300 are almost identical in benchmarks with the 4300 being slightly better in single threaded applications and the 6300 being slightly higher in multi-threaded applications. The differences are nominal though so it won't hurt that much if you have to go with the 4300.
